Over time, this paste can dry out, crack, or pump out, becoming less effective.

Replacing the old thermal paste involves carefully removing the heatsink, thoroughly cleaning both the component surface and the heatsink base (using isopropyl alcohol), applying a small, appropriate amount of new high-quality thermal paste, and properly remounting the heatsink with even pressure. Fan malfunction is another potential culprit. Cooling fans can fail, wear out (becoming noisy or slow), or become disconnected. Technicians check if all fans (CPU fan, GPU fans, case fans, laptop fan) are spinning correctly. A non-functional fan needs replacement.
